Community Education

2013’s community education series was hosted by the Nauset Middle School. Caregivers of someone with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia (ADRD) must manage the ever-changing behaviors of their loved one; the anxiety is constant. The challenge of caring for someone with ADRD is unique because it is truly a 24/7 charge. The program focused on the tools necessary for successfully managing ADRD in your home.

    1. Overview of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias
    2. Communication techniques
    3. Working with family dynamics and “the promise”
    4. Planning tips and caregiver wellness
